In a project funded by the Europan Commission, FreyZein worked together with the EURECAT Technology Centre, a private organization based in Spain, on an innovative outdoor fabric. Particular attention was paid to the use of cellulose-based fibres that have a low impact on nature.
The result is an outdoor jacket based on the design by Lea Baumschlager (Fashion & Technology, Art University Linz). This was presented at the Fuori Salone of the Milano Design Week in 2021.
WORTH also marked the first project in which we explored water repellent capabilities of the fabrics in use.
Bottom Line:
This project taught us that we and the market place higher demands on the material than can be realized with a single-layer fabric. So we started working on multilayer concepts.
